These images of deep-sea animals were captured by David Shale (BBC Blue Planet) on board the RRS James Cook during the recent ECOMAR cruise to the Mid-Atlantic Ridge, North Atlantic Ocean (13th July - 18th August 2007).
ECOMAR is a UK NERC funded element of MAR-ECO (www.mar-eco.no), aimed at understanding how physical and biogeochemical factors influence the distributions and structure of deep-sea animals and communities.
